On the website of Devonport, one can see the various profiles of the many large yacht designs they have on display. From 90 to 165-meters the designs range with contemporary, plumb and reversed bows.
The highly secretive Project 55 currently in build had Devonport...of course isn't 55-meters as the name might suggest but actually 96-meters long. She has an exterior design by Redman Whiteley Dixon and an interior by Remi Tessier.
Is it just me or does the 96-meter "Vava II" look like a large version of Benetti's 65-meter "Nataly". I mean it wouldn't be a totally strange occurence with RWD working both designs right?
There are pics out of the "Vava II" doing trials last month! Her mast is gorgeous!!!! well designed, she has covered anchor pockets, fold-out mooring/anchor watch platforms, slide out bridge wings. I'm really liking this design! All sizes | Project 55 (Vava II) | Flickr - Photo Sharing! All sizes | Project 55 (Vava II) | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Nice find. There are a couple other nice, but smaller, photos of her available elsewhere. She is a really good looking vessel. Lets hope her interior will be revealed as she is going to be going on the charter market.
The interior is by Remi Tessier! Come on! just the name alone gives you an idea how it should be. We will wait and see though. Definitely a good looking vessel on the exterior, I would like to see some aerials.
Not really, it's high but not that high to 'disturb' the lines of the yacht. I think that is only because the mast is along the midship of Vava II and so...helps keep the entire design looking balanced.
I think it looks fine. It does not hurt the lines of the yacht. I would probably prefer this over something else. On another note, looking at the photos of her I do think she will end up having small public areas, meaning saloons, on her decks. It appears that she is trying to go for the high capacity charter feel.
From their website: "Devonport Yachts was acquired by Pendennis Shipyard Ltd in February 2010. Further integration into the Pendennis group of companies (which also includes Pendennis Palma launched in July 2011) has seen Devonport Yachts Ltd renamed as Pendennis Plus. For further information please visit www.*************" Cheers.
I wondered the same. Regarding Vava II delivery, I have seen a picture of her flying the Cayman Islands flag, so she has been handed over... The mast design grew on me and I really like her tough.
