Caught the Trumpy "Aurora II" at Sailfish Marina, along the Manatee Pocket in Stuart, Florida, while embarking on a sea trial of the new Nordhavn 63'. At first glance, it appeared to have a tower...

In fact, it did tower over other Trumpys... it had a bank of solar panels on the roof. Good wood and a green machine!

Aurora was left to a well known Trumpy restorer by a client. He is now restoring her for his own use.

Great photos Carl. "Aurora II", her original name, was for many years "Veritas" and lived in Miami.

You need to get your prescription checked! The only thing fuzzier than that first foto is my math.

Hello trumpy1, Welcome to YachtForums! "Aurora II" built in 1947 is contract# 332. As Maldwin said above, she is now owned by a notable Trumpy yacht restorer as is personal yacht and is kept in the Palm Beach area.

The professional Classic Yacht photographer always flatters his subject with a soft focus. The Classic Yacht broker should have an outdated eye glass prescription!

I am in the process of researching Trumpy Yachts. You seem to have be quite a historian with Trumpys. I have worked on 5 of them. I would like to have your assistance, if interested. May be able to save me some time on my research. I understand that their is so much to know about John Trumpy and his yachts.

After reading what is posted here on YF, a good place to continue reading is the coveted Trumpy book, now out of print, by Robert Picardat and Robert Tolf. If you can find one (try ebay) be sitting down when you see the price.

I can perhaps help with other info. I have some basic knowledge on the subject of Trumpys.

My partner with this project managed to get a copy through a source at a college library. May just have to check out the price due to your comment. She has not passed it along to me yet. My part is to do the research on the families that commissioned Mr. Trumpy. Is there a way to send you an email other than on this site? I have taken some great photos myself. I will share them with this forum. Since joining this sight within the last 20 minutes, I have learned a lot already. So nice to know that there are so many people who share the same passion!!! :)

We would love to see your photos. Please be mindful of the photo posting guidelines for this site. Max photo width is 640.

Send me an email through YF and we'll go from there. I may know you already btw...

Just joined this site after seeing a Trumpy go by my house this morning. My Uncle Dan used to live on Star Island in Miami and the Veritas was his boat! Such great memories as a boy - the boat looks great!!
