    Gents,

I'm a little overwhelmed of late with YF upgrades and GF downgrades, so please give me a break and give yourself a break... if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. That phrase is something I've become intimately familiar with recently.

PLEASE... stop sweating the small stuff. It's a HUGE turn off for YF followers and frankly, it's unbecoming of the quality of people that inhabit this forum.

Absolutely agree... I'm a relative newbie to the forum but am amazed (and at times amused) at some of the comments. Maybe the forum needs a new thread titled "The Ego Project" where those of strong sensibilities can air their thoughts, albeit with the knowledge that the spotlight is on them to not sully the quality of this forum. Frankly, I think some of the "old elephants" (yes that phrase should raise a few comments!) in the room are absolute gems and warehouses of knowledge, and enjoy their spirited ramblings... within reason. That's my 2 cents....

The US is in transition, posts reflect the current state of mental anguish, change....status quo...or ...die....

One could offer a senior moment and forgetting to take the meds as an excuse; but if one is childish enough to do the crime, one should be adult enough to do the time.

So, apologies all around. No harm was meant; although, obviously was done.

    Hear, Hear!

    Carl,

May the loud cheers rising up from all of us newbs who lurk on your forum and are praising your name ring in your ears for many days! May statues be erected in your honor! May we gain the courage to post honest questions without fear of being excoriated by experts (or being accused of pornography as one was :().

Many thanks for a great forum and for laying down the law.

I agree as one of the people this may directed towards. The issue I have is that some folks here post with the thought that others are ignorant and need to be taught. The air of "I know so much more than you" is just as toxic as not saying something nice directly, but easier to hide behind. I've curtailed my visits to the forum and posting because of that reason, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way or takes this path. You may consider what other forums have done which is to ask for members to step up and become a moderator. The moderator would then monitor sections and "advise" members of posts that appear to be out of line with the tone you would like to see.

    We do that.

As much as I hate censorship, sometimes we have no choice but to clean out a thread. We endeavour to let conversations progress as freely as possible... but some people get carried away and one of us has to do some judicious editing.

We already have the best Moderators in the business, why change?

Yes, why do you have to feel like you have to make some one feel stupid because they don't know some thing? There's a lot of things I don't know and a lot of things I want to know,, what's wrong with that? I certainly wasn't born knowing
