    Matt,
Try the folks at Marysville Marine in WI or MI, (google 'em) they are an excellent outfit and may be able to sell you a manual. A word of warning though, I knew a very able type at my yacht club who tried to service his own paragon tranny and went through weeks of ****...what with all the planetary gears, etc....I think he did eventually did fix it but lost the major part of his season, which as you well know, is very short for us northerners. Marysville also fixes them and they are not too outrageous. Here's another hint, the also very able mechanics at my own marina send them to Marysville for repair!!! Good Luck!

Hi Matt. I have a copy of a Paragon Service Manual for Hydraulic Reverse Gears, Model HF7. It's 35 pages long and has info and diagrams of the gear. Let me know if this will help and I can get a copy made and sento to you.

Oh, not fixing it myself! I do computers, not motors and the such. We have a guy doing it but he can't seem to find the service manual up here in Canada. They are common, but very old transmissions. He'll do a good job- it's his line of work. We're going to have the work done over the winter so we can get back in for our short season.

    Paragon manual

    Hello,
I am in need of a Paragon manual for repair of my 67 Roamer port gear. No unusuall noises but prop always rolls no matter how the linkage is adjusted. Otherwise good. Has anyone experienced this?

    Paragon transmission repair manual

I have been restoring an old 1974 Chris Craft Tournament Sport Fisherman for about three years. I had the Paragon transmissions and engines professionally rebuilt about a year ago. I am almost ready to put the boat in the water, but when I ran the engines up the starboard transmission wouldn't go into reverse without a lot of clunking noise. It shifts into forward fine.
The mechanic is no longer in the area, so I will have to troubleshoot and repair the paragon my self. I was an aircraft mechanic for 20 plus years and am mechanically inclined, but need a repair manual.

Does anyone have a paragon repair manual or know where I could get one?
    Thanks
    Charlie

Remove one of the washers on the large bolt that is in the transmission. These washers act like shim. The bolt is on the exterior or the transmission and is very easy to get to. Try this simple fix before you do anything major.

    Paragon Manual

Hi Charlie. Sorry it has taken so long to respond....way behind in answering emails! I have a 1967 48' Chris-Craft Roamer with 427 engines. I have the Paragon Service Manual for Model HF7 & the Service Manual for Models RO-RA-RB-RC. It would probably be easier to copy & send to you than try to scan & send a few pages at a time. Let me know.

I have the PDF version of the HF1 through HF6. I need the HF7 one though. Could someone email it? If you have a hard copy I could scan it and make it into PDF for everyone.

I have made PFD's of the three Paragon manuals I have, including the HF7. If you can give me an email address, I am happy to share.

    Hi Dennis

If your computer has not yet experienced a vapor lock from sending out all those Paragon Manuals, I'd sure appreciate your sending them to me also at:

    I'd be most appreciative!

BTW: I have a Paragon P33AL and a 120HP Ford Lehman 2614E on my boat. If you have anything else specific to the P33AL I'd be most grateful if you'd send that on as well. I've not had any trouble with diesel or transmission yet but I'll be bringing the boat over to Mallorca, Spain this June and if I have any problems, I doubt that Spanish mechanics will have Paragon (or Ford) manuals. (I have a Ford Lehman manual-such as it is).

    Thanks

    Pat
