Royal Huisman complete 57.50-meter "Twizzle"
Dutch yacht builder Royal Huisman launched the widely anticipated 57.50-meter long flybridge ketch called "Twizzle" back in July. Since then she has been completed and formally delivered to her owner(s). She has been built with Naval Architecture by Dubois Naval Architects with exterior styling interior by UK firm Redman Whiteley Dixon and interior styling and decoration by Tod Hunter Earle Associates.
The name Twizzle may sound familiar and probably it does. That is because the owner of this yacht built a Feadship with the same name in the past. The new flybridge ketch by Royal Huisman is a ground breaking design from a technical and technology standpoint. She also is the first fly-bridge sailing yacht for the design firm.
Twizzle has been built fully from aluminum and has a displacement near 550 tonnes. She is 11.59-meters wide and carries a variable draft...
Lurssen launches 85-meter "Pacific"
A few months ago, German super yacht builder Lurssen launched a 85-meter long yacht built under the Project name 'Josi'. Josi then recieved her final name, "Pacific" nearing her launch. Pacific isn't exactly the most contemporary of designs in terms of aesthetics. In fact she appears more like a naval vessel akin to that association of another Lurssen build, "Skat".
Pacific's different exterior styling has been formulated by the boards of German Frers. On the inside, the design styling comes by the pen of famed designer firm, Bannenberg & Rowell. Pacific is one of four yachts that Lurssen successfully launched so far for 2010. Of course the other there being "Phoenix 2" (Project J24), "Solemates II"(Project Katie Sue II) and "Katara" (Project Crystal).
Pacific also known as hull 13658, has been out on sea trials already since launching...
Bilgin yachts complete 127-foot "Indiana"
Turkish yacht builder Bilgin Yachts enjoyed a successful period where they completed the delivery of four yachts in a relatively short space of time in 2010. One of those completed yachts was the 127-foot "Indiana". Indiana was delivered to her owners in mid to late April 2010.
She was built under hull number 809 at Bilgin Yachts. The exterior design is done in-house by Bilgin Yachts whereas the interior has been furnished Septemar Yacht Furniture Co. There is accommodation for ten guests in one Master, one VIP and three guest cabins. Provision for six crew members in three cabins are also made.
Indiana is finished in Awlgrip paint systems white with black tinted windows. She is powered by twin MTU 2400 Horse Power marine engines. This 38-meter yacht now joins the growing fleet of Bilgin yachts sailing the open seas...
McMullen & Wing 50-meter "Star Fish"
In March 2010, New Zealand yacht builder McMullen & Wing launched the widely anticipated "Big Fish". Since then, she has been completed and delivered to owners. Next on the completion list for McMullen & Wing is slightly larger version of Big Fish called "Star Fish". This new 50-meter yacht is currently under construction and is reportedly for the same owner of the Big Fish.
"Star Fish builds on the vision and philosophy so clearly demonstrated by the success of Big Fish. Star Fish will continue to expand the boundaries of the yachting experience, creating new yachts for a new age." Gregory C. Marshall has been employed in respect designing the Naval Architecture.
She is being built utilizing a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. When completed Star Fish will weigh just under 500 gross tonnes. Twin CAT 3508B DI-TA marine engines are to be used...
Benetti completes 62-meter "Bistango"
At the end of 2009, Italian yacht builder Benetti launched a 62-meter yacht that was later christened "Bistango". Known as hull FB 244 in construction, she was completed in the first half of 2010. Her Naval Architecture is by Benetti and features exterior styling by Stefano Natucci. The interior concept and styling is by Studio Massari.
Bistango has a displacement of just over 1000 tonnes and was built in steel and aluminum for optimum strength and balance. She was envisioned for the charter market and has been classed MCA. Average guest capacity on the Bistango is about twelve under charter but she can host fourteen. They are served by a crew compliment of fourteen, slept in eight cabins.
There are twin MTU 12V 4000 M60 series engines with the ability to push this Benetti to a top speed of 16 knots with a cruise of 14 knots...
Proteksan and Turquoise announce new 74-meter design
With an enviable order book of over 380m in-build and a new 58m on the dock for the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, a confident Mehmet Karabeyoglu of the Turkish based Proteksan Turquoise Shipyard has joined with Stuart Larsen of Fraser Yachts and Tim Wiltshire of Burgess to commission Andrew Winch Designs to develop a new flexible 74-meter motor yacht design.
As can be seen from the designs, renderings and accommodation drawings supplied by Andrew Winch Designs for the two variations, the potential client has a great deal of flexibility in both the exterior design and interior layout...
Blohm + Voss completes 96-meter "Palladium"
German shipyard Blohm + Voss completed work on another of their large yachts. The latest is the 96-meter yacht christened as "Palladium". She was previously known under the project name "Orca" while in construction. Easily one of the most anticipated projects for 2010 launch, Palladium features a striking design that veers away somewhat from norm. Yet, overall she is in the body of a contemporary design.
The 96-meter Palladium's design was penned by Michael Leach featuring sharp curves, subtle angles and a paint scheme that adds to her masculine appeal. Last week, the 315-foot was completed and delivered by Blohm + Voss. The interior design also has been the work of Michael Leach along with associate partners.
Oversized windows are every where on Palladium allowing for a wealth of natural light access the interior...
Fincanteri launches 134-meter "Serene"
Italian ship builder Fincanteri immersed themselves into the large yacht market about four years ago and announced contract for a large 130+ meter yacht. This yacht, hull # 6154 started construction late in 2006 and it has been a long road but finally the new Yacht Division at Fincanteri has proudly launched their first yacht today. Fincanteri hull 6154 is called "Serene".
Serene has been built to a design by world renowned Espen Oeino. The massive interior has been designed by Reymond Langton. She has been built at Fincanteri's Muggiano (La Spezia) yard and is now in the final phases of construction. With her launch, she is expected to be completed and delivered before the end of the year.

Nobiskrug completes 68-meter "Sycara V"
Hot on the heels of the delivery of the new "Jamaica Bay", Nobiskrug completed yet another yacht, the 68-meter "Sycara V". Nobiskrug was the builder, Craig Beale design of Australia and interior by Pure Detail.
She will play host to a maximum of 14 guests who will be served by a maximum of 18 crew members. Twin CAT 3516 Marine engines give her a top speed of 17 knots and a cruise speed around 14 knots. Just under 190,000 LT fuel capacity tanks can allow her to sail over 7,000 nautical miles if so desired.
Sycara V features a 12-meter overall beam and a draft in the region of 3.55-meters. Previously known as build number 780, she was constructed in steel and marine grade aluminum. The new displacement yacht passed trial tests and has been now successfully delivered to her owner(s). Nobiskrug has the "Sapphire" for 2010, the "Magambo" for 2011 and "Grafitti", 2012...
Blohm + Voss showcase new 111-meter retro motor yacht
German super yacht builder Blohm + Voss recently introduced a new design that is as modern as anything they have built of late but having a strong retro, vintage flair and purpose. The new yacht is a 111-meter design styled after early twentieth century cruising motor yachts. The new design comes after their proposals, the 110-meter 'Fast' and 120-meter 'X'.
"...and the classic craze continues", encompassing the very traits that embody this phrase. She has a traditional and classical cruiser stern, long bow with bowsprit, dashing sheer at the bow, sweeping continuous lines and twin raking funnels.
Twelve guests can be accommodated in four cabins and two VIP suites. Twenty-five crew members are on stand by to serve her every need. Like on many large yachts today, an entire deck on this massive yacht is dedicated to the owner where his or her every whim and fantasy is carefully laid out...
Abeking and Rasmussen launch 78-meter "TITAN"
"TITAN" was launched back in May 2010 in rather quiet fashion but this yacht is one to be of note. German super yacht builder, Abeking and Rasmussen is responsible for her construction. TITAN is the third in a recent series of 78-meter yachts built by A&R. The first of course were the 2008-built "Eminence" followed by the blue-hulled "C2".
Although TITAN follows the basic design mold has her sisterships, she has a number of cosmetic design alterations which make her very easy to distinguish. Firstly, she has a gray hull making her distinct from her sisters. Her main tenders appear to be housed in a dedicated garage in the bow served by twin garage doors, port and starboard side. The radar mast is also totally redesigned as well as the sun deck. There are no protruding elevator capsules on the forward sun deck on TITAN...
Westport complete seventh W164'; "Boardwalk"
"Boardwalk" is the name of the latest Westport 164-foot series of yachts from this American yacht manufacturer. She also represents the seventh in the series to have been built thus far, hull ID# 5007. Boardwalk is a semi-displacement yacht constructed in composite materials with exterior styling from Donald Starkey and naval architecture by William Garden.
She was launched back in July and since then has been completed and handed over to her owner(s). Boardwalk can sleep up to 12 guests in six cabins, this is inclusive of the Master stateroom. The latest W164' and her guests are served by up to thirteen crew members. She is ABS and MCA compliant and is appropriately suited for charter. There are twin MTU 16V 4000 engines capable of pushing her to a top speed of 24 knots. A range of over 5,000 nautical miles is attainable at economical speeds under 13 knots...
OceAnco launches 86-meter 'Y-706'
The Y-700 series of new generation yachts continues for OceAnco with the recent and successful launching of the sixth yacht in that series, 'Y-706'. The 86-meter long yacht features a design penned by Nuvolari & Lenard. She is quite reminiscent of 'Y-702', christened "Alfa Nero" in her overall appearence but that is where the similarity ends. It is the details that set her apart and as you view her closer, those details become clearer.
On the inside, she is enormously spacious having enough guest cabins to sleep twelve in the highest comfort and luxury. There is a master stateroom, two VIP suites, two double cabins and one twin for guests. There is even a complete deck catering solely to the owner's whims and fantasies...
Adam Voorhees, Lurssen showcase 91-meter "Aurora" project
Adam Voorhees design and German super yacht builder Lurssen have collaborated and created a new design project called "Aurora". They will present this 91-meter long design at the upcoming 2010 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) at the end of September.
According to Voorhees, the design... "is an exploration of new ideas for multifunctional spaces, interior and exterior living, and an innovative form language: the exemplary expression of the yachting lifestyle." Essentially it is a concept exploring the preceding characteristics.
Be sure not to miss this new design project, as it will be unveiled in Monaco at the Lurssen stand at the show. More information would be disseminated there about the design and all related content.

Incat Crowther 38-meter Catamaran Yacht
Slated for launching in early 2011, Incat Crowther's 38-meter Catamaran motor yacht is making good progress in construction. In fact, Incat Crowther recently released photos revealing the advanced stages that the construction is currently at. Delivery is also slated and expected for 2011.
Incat Crowther, known for their prowess in Aluminum construction, has built this 38-meter of the same material, marine grade aluminum. The 37.45-meter long catamaran yacht has a spacious beam of 10.30-meters. A shallow draught of just 1.50-meters will allow her to approach close to shore with little fear of running aground.
Twin MTU 12V4000M71 series marine engines will power her and push her to an expected speed 25 knots. At more economical speeds she is also expected to have a range of well over 3,000 nautical miles. The yacht is currently under construction in Western Australia...
IAG Yachts launch 38-meter yacht
China based yacht builder IAG has launched a new yacht in the form of their 127-foot model. In fact she is the first yacht to be launched for the company and she is also the first in what is being called the Primadonna series. Built out of FRP, her light weight but rigid construction gives her a half load displacement of around 185 tonnes.
Twin CAT C32 1800 marines engines power her to an expected speed of 20 knots at half load. She has a beam of 8.00-meters and a draught of 2.10-meters. On the inside, she can sleep up to 12 guests pending layout selection. There is also accommodation for 8 crew members.
The IAG 38-meter is classed as follows: RINA, C X HULL ● MACH Ych (MCA), unrestricted navigation. She is currently being finished and tested and will make her debut and appearance at the upcoming 2010 edition of the FLIBS (Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show)...
Alloy completes 44-meter "Imagine II"
New Zealand yacht manufacturer, Alloy Yachts, have completed a special project for a repeat client. Around the middle of June 2010, the yard launched the "Imagine II". AY40, as she was known as in construction, is larger than the owner's previous yacht of the same name ("Imagine"). She measures 44.20-meters while the older vessel was around 34-meters.
Both yachts were designed by the famed firm of Dubois Naval Architects. Imagine II is now completed to the delight of everyone that worked on her. However, the newest yacht is packed with new technology especially relating to sailing and handling. Furthermore, the new technology and comfort is extended to the public and private spaces.
Accommodation is set up in one Master stateroom and two guest cabins. The crew is also taken care of. The 260 tonne yacht features a Southern Spars mast and Leisure furling boom all supporting North Sails 3DL...
Inace yachts launch 98-foot explorer
Brazil-based yacht manufacturer Inace Yachts have recently launched a near 100-foot explorer styled yacht, both form and function. She features a design by Jon Overing and is meant to have the persona as a go-anywhere, world trekking yacht.
The Inace 98' is powered by twin 600-Horse power CAT marine engines giving her a top speed in the region of 12 knots. The interior is done in American Cherry to a slight traditional feel. Accommodations include a master and 3 guest cabins. There are 2 cabins for the crew members. The Inace 98' will be shown at the 2010 edition of the FLIBS (Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show) later this year in October.

Nobiskrug completes 60-meter "Jamaica Bay"
"...and the classic craze continues..." As we like to say here at YachtForums.com, this statement aptly applies to Nobiskrug's latest delivery. She is the new 60-meter long "Jamaica Bay" built to replace the a previous yacht that once held the same name. Previously known under build number 779, her external lines evoke a classic affair, no matter where you look at her.
Her canoe stern, lightly flared bow, sweeping easy lines and curves describe her classic appearance. These were all in the preliminary design drawings that her designer, Felix Buytendijk envisioned. Now Jamaica Bay is a reality, it is clear, that the construction and finishing was a success.
The same design firm that was responsible for the exterior was for the interior as well...
Gulf Craft launches and completes 125-foot yacht
A few months ago in May, UAE yacht manufacturer Gulf Craft Inc announced the launching of their Majesty 125-foot yacht. At the time, the yacht became the largest yacht to be constructed using the Vacuum Infusion process. "In addition, Gulf Craft revealed details of the Majesty 125 currently under construction, which when completed in two months will represent an important milestone for the region. The Majesty 125 will also become the world’s largest yacht constructed using the latest vacuum infused fiberglass techniques."
