    If I have a yacht built in another country other than the United States, and I want to take ownership and sail from that country, back to the US, can I have the registration documented as being that of the US, registered to my home port and under American registration?

    For a USCG documented vessel: As long as the vessel is wholly owned by a citizen of the US.

    Registration is usually a factor of each particular state, whereas documentation is Federal.
