  1. Construction to start on Dubois 101-meter sloop mid-2013

Remember when you were wowed by the design proposal by Dubois Naval Architects for a 101-meter super sailing sloop earlier this year? The beast of a yacht is now closer-than-ever to starting construction. The behemoth is set to start build by Q2 2013.

Design 380 at Dubois Naval Architects is clearly their largest design to-date. Even at that length and approximately 2000-tonnes she will draw only 4-meters of water with her keel retracted! However, in sailing mode out in the deep blue, the draft can be increased to 16-meters to take advantage of that undersea reach for stabilty.
  2. Even the boom from the mast is of staggering proportions, 42-meters long...that's even longer than some yachts! The carbon fiber mast alone is another story, standing 125-meters above the deck. With a vessel this size you may expect her to carry quite a few guests but outside the owner, there are cabins to host eight guests, two doubles and twin twins. That's a possible minimum of ten and room for a 22-man/woman crew. The interior is going to be built to a design by Josep Juanpere Miret of GCA Arquitectes Associats.
