    Hi all,

I have a question about teak decks, well a few;) .On the last project which you will see some pics is a 75 ft Wave Runner by B.Roberts.

The thickness of the decking was 10 mm ,with a routed 6x5 groove for the Sikaflex. Its three years old and still looks great. It was properly laid by someone that know his job, ect.
My question,is their a rule of thumb that says the deck has to be so and so thick .I am sure a 150 footer will need something much thicker for eg.The reason I am asking this is that the project I am busy now is a 26 m.How thick you would go or should I say how thin can one go to save weight ?

Here is some pictures of the last project. She is bound for the Seychelles next month so here are some pics before she goes.

    Thanks for the great site

@Francois,I`m not sure if you already managed your teakdeck problem?! But usually you don`t need the teakdeck for that yachts structure. It`s just the surface you`re walking on... The Problem is to get the niveau of the old deck because of seam to decks house...

Julian, thanks .Its only on the walking part of the deck that we put he teak on. The coachroof has a small teak pad for the ladies.

Orion, thanks for the sites.I like the shape of the skylight on the coachroof. That an awesome boat. You are right about the weight factor. The owner wants to use solid teak decks though.
