Her hull looks pristine in many of the links Disco posted so I was wondering if she got repainted.

Octopus looks great one of my all time favorite yachts. Eclipse is rumoured to be arriving by Friday, I believe she is also coming from a refit, hope this is true looking forward to seeing her

Marinetraffic still shows Eclipse in Barcelona.

London is approximately 2,200 miles from Barcelona which at 22kn will take about 4 days so she will be hard pressed to make it there by Friday.

I will keep my fingers crossed!

She is capable of doing it but that is if conditions are conducive for those speeds.

    Thanks Disco,

It looks like they're congregating in the West India Docks main channel just past the locks. One thing I noticed when I was in the UK a couple years ago was that a lot of ports had locks to account for the tidal differences.

Eclipse is still in Barcelona. When you own the largest yacht in the world, you probably like people to admire it, and there is no better stage than the olympics. But with Putin angry at the UK and not attending, it may be politically incorrect for this yacht to be there, getting a lot of attention.

    Hey Marc,

How close to the Olympic complex can you get by tender from the yachts moored in various locations?

Will you still need to walk any distance from the dock to the complex?

    Disco,

Looking at a map, there appears to be three ways to get to the Olympic complex by tender: River Lee, Bowback River and the Waterworks. One should be able to get fairly close. However, it's likely the tenders will drop off the passengers and find somewhere else to wait until they're needed. I suspect it will resemble an aquatic version of Oscar Night with VIPs being dropped off by their tenders.

By the way, Bing Maps appears to be the most up to date, but you have to watch how far you zoom in and what angle to use. This is for the satellite view.

There is a 3 masted schooner opposite Eclipse, any ideas who it may be?

    Nope.

I'm normally pretty good at spotting a schooner.

    DOH! Octopus.
