  1. Situated forward, in the bow, the VIP Stateroom is nestled in a space almost as grand as the Master Suite, in terms of layout. Still restrained in visual tone, she flaunts a raised queen size berth with the same care, just slightly smaller, fitting into the bow’s point. Cabinetry and overall design continue the commodious display.
  2. This VIP Bath close-up reveals the modern fixtures used throughout the yacht’s decor, with richly patterned, striated marble, focusing on the latest innovations in fixture design.
  3. Hortense also lends her creativity to the pair of Twin staterooms, with single beds side by side and ample walking/storage space between. The design detailing -- coral and light beige – walnut panels and cabinets, continues as well, with handy ports introducing plenty of daylight.
  4. Fully equipped for long-term voyaging, Hortense’ engine room is packed with orderly, essential equipment. This full beam-width facility -- equal to any motor yacht this size -- provides direct access below, through the galley, via her crew quarters. Her twin Cummins QSL 9,OM, 285hp diesels run the yacht at 11 knots normal cruise, with available fuel storage 4,160 USG. She will also run silent on a battery bank; with electricity produced by a pair of Onan 27 kW gensets.
  5. The engine room shelters a hydraulic power pack as well, air conditioning chiller, watermaker, switchboard cabinets, accessible through an aft deck hatch lazarret. This ‘garage’ location also stores diving gear, windsurfing boards, and two large freezers. Forward, beneath the guest facilities, a cofferdam there contains pumps and boilers; as well as – surprise – a secret, yet convenient wine cellar.
  6. Primary objectives for the yacht’s build, say the design team, were reliability, strength and volume, all met here. However, the particular advantage of Hortense’ yachting concept is her Motor-Sailing efficiency; that is, using the engine in concert with the sails; cruising at corresponding speeds and comparable wind/sea conditions; aloof in her quietude, glorying in the sea and the sky. And in the bargain, reducing fuel consumption as much as a third.

Hortense, the ketch-rigged Motor-Sailer Yacht, is a product of their ingenious wizardry, certain to reward her voyagers with awesome, wonderful, Motor-Sailing experiences, wherever she may roam.
