I have a aqua meter tachometer 0-35 rpm in 100 increments that has failed. It works off a tach generator on the back of the Detroit 671. Has anyone replaced a tachometer on this set up? What kind of voltage does the generator produce? Are we metering voltage or frequency?

I just replaced the same instruments on mine with digital units I bought used. Had to replace the tach senders. The Aqua Meter is using variable voltage as the signal where as most modern units use pulses (frequency). You will need to replace the sender with something that matches your new tach. Unfortunately I just threw my 2 working ones away.

I bought tach senders from them for my 8v92tii's.
