    Hi all..

We want to paint our anchor ( silver) what is the best way? We don't anchor much so anchor is mostly exposed to sun and sea salt

Any steel/cast iron, I use cold galvanizing spray after cleaning rusted areas. Then paint however you want. Big anchors I usually brush because it's too much trouble to prevent overspray.

I have used Pettit Rustlok 6980 on galvanized anchors in poor condition, with very good results.

After wire brushing anything loose, treating it with Ospho before painting works well for me.

Best is to sand blast prior to the cold galvanised spray. If you can have it hot dip galavanised, that would be the ideal.

    Specialy the hot deeping.
My expiriance of 40 years and about 8 anchors and chains prove it.
