SanLorenzo Launches Second 460EXP, "X"

The second unit in the SanLorenzo 42-meter 460EXP line has been launched and is called "X". Just to clarify, 460EXP does not suggest the yacht is 46-meters long, it is actually 42.2-meters in her overall length. It is the same scenario for her debut hull sister called "Moka". The line is actually around 460 GT which is where the 460EXP term is derived. Although X is similar in design she is painted differently making it fairly easy to recognize her should they both turn up at the same marina. Her steel hull features a grey colour, white superstructure and black accent on the mast and domes.

X has a couple of special features that the owner requested. A jacuzzi pool with an endless current feature to allow for in-place swimming has been installed. There is an outdoor gym that is fully equipped for the owner and guests to utilize. The design is smooth and allows for a great sense of space to be created. This is thanks to designer Francesco Paszkowski who penned the entire range. The aft main deck although main utilized for storage of the vessel’s tenders and toys can be transformed into an open deck for relaxation if required. Just launch the tenders and reconfigure the deck with the requisite outdoor furniture and accessories.

There is a beefy crane on that deck to handle any tender up to an estimated 10-meters in length. The exact engine setup onboard X isn’t known but if we are to go by Moka’s set up that would be twin CAT C32’s. She isn’t a sprinter so don’t expect a fast top-end speed. Those engines are a modest 1,300 HP or so but what they offer is more-than-decent fuel economy. At 11-knots, the 460EXP can roam for 4,000 nautical miles. How many 42-meter yachts can boast those figures? Deliveries of the 460EXP will continue for a couple years as SanLorenzo have another three units under the belt for clients.
