52-meter Project 406 Soon To Launch

The largest sportfish yacht in the world is now nearing completion and soon ready for launch. Under construction as Project 406, the massive 52-meter all-aluminium sportfisher is a monster and is ready to leave build hall 2 at her builders in the Netherlands. Once she emerges from the shed, her upper deck, sun awning hardtop and radar mast will be added. She isn't a luxury yacht that has a few rod-holders she is an actual purpose-built sportfisher on steroids.

What you see on Project 406 is the work of Vripack Yacht Design who was responsible for the exterior, interior and Naval Architecture of this vessel. Her distinctive exterior design from Vripack is characterized by a long bow and high bulwarks, sweeping through a clear sheer to a low and uncluttered cockpit aft. The high tower offers outstanding views with a downward angle on the water for specialized fishing.

The testing of most board systems and other innovative technical installations is currently nearing completion before her final transport, upcoming launch and trials. This yard has been pushing the boundaries especially in aluminium construction. Project 406 will be the largest sportfish yacht built in aluminium (alustar) and largest overall.
