Pair of 53-meter Trimaran Yachts Launch At Latitude Yachts

Latitude Yachts based in Latvia, launched two near identical 53-meter Trimaran luxury yachts earlier this month. The yachts are going to be headed to the Middle East once completed. They also represent the largest trimarans in the world. Not surprisingly, the construction of these unique yachts is composite utilizing a mixture of carbon fiber and fiber glass to produce not only a strong platform but also lightweight body.

Interestingly, these two trimarans may not be the last orders for the yard as another two contracts for similar types are in the works. Given their relatively lightweight construction, expect these craft to be fairly fast -30-knots have been carded initially-. Sea trials will confirm this once that process gets underway. The yachts are near identical and feature space over three decks. The design by Jean Jacques Coste presents a very sleek all-silver profile that even previous trimaran yachts can’t maintain, although the "Adastra" comes close!

Valdis Irbe who is the co-owner of Latitude Yachts commented, “This was a great challenge for me and I was brave enough to agree to bring this project to life. They have no analogues in size – they are the biggest trimarans in the world.” The projects took approximately two years and five months to complete and are unique in their complexity. As for the names of the yachts, they are called “Galaxy” and “Galaxy of Happiness” Three cabins can be found onboard both boats for guest use, one owner’s suite and two guest cabins. The interiors have been designed and developed by Latitude Yachts along with Coste.
