70-meter Project 'Kometa' Prepares For Launch At Heesen Yachts

Dutch yard Heesen's next largest build in being prepared for launch. The soon-to-be flagship -at 70-meters- will take the title from the 65-meter Heesen "Galactica Star". Once completed and handed over to her owners she is expected to make her world debut at the 2016 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). Delivery is still slated for Spring, 2016 so launch should be pretty soon, especially judging from these recent photos.

The 70-meter all-aluminum superyacht has been designed by Espen Oeino with a wonderful interior by Sinot Yacht Design. This fast displacement superyacht is around 1,200 GT and will be able to sprint to speeds up to 30-knots. The design is clearly inspired by Galactica Star and rightly should be another smash hit from Heesen. Project 'Kometa', as she has been called during build and up to this point, possess a number of great features including an expansive beach club on the extreme aft lower deck. With a fold-out transom hatch, the main swim platform is created for when the yacht is at anchor. Two other fold-down shell doors on either side of the space further open-up the beach club to waterside dwelling. The foredeck can be used as touch-and-go helipad, sunbathing, informal dining or transformed into an outdoor cinema. A 6-meter swim-jet infinity pool with waterfall is situated on the aft main deck and features a glass-paneled bottom and spa jets for hydro massage.
