News: First Westport 117 Nears Completion

The first unit in the new 36-meter Westport 117 model is nearing completion. Construction actually started in 2022 and has been progressing steadily in build since. The first hull is expected to be completed and be ready for debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) later this year. The GRP hull and superstructure have already been fitted together and fit-out is well underway.

On the interior, the W117 will have accommodations for 10 guests in 5 cabins. 5 crew can also be accommodated. If the interior follows the renderings made available then the master suite for example will mirror the below render showcasing a centerline king and large side windows on the forward main deck. You will likely find Mahogany, Pomelle sapele on the interior.

The exterior decks also benefit from the 7.7-meter beam of the W117. The upper decks which flow from the under the hardtop and down stairs to the lower portion can be well appointed as depicted in the following rendering. Dual CAT C32s have been fitted in the hull. A top speed of 24-knots and a fast cruise of 20-knots is anticipated with this engine setup. Like always, the boat with its 1.9-meter draft will be able to easily traverse shallow areas and explore places like The Bahamas which can be particularly shallow in some spots.
