  1. Burger Boat 31.55-meter Explorer Starts Construction
American builder Burger Boat Company has started construction on their 31.5-meter explorer yacht. It’s a three deck yacht with a design by Luiz de Basto fitted for long-range cruising. The yacht is a new design direction for Burger Boat. At first glance, the vessel appears to have a trawler-like signature, but the Luiz de Basto touch gives it a unique character that blends motoryacht and explorer elements into a handsome, go-anywhere cruiser.
  2. De Basto is also responsible for the interior of the 31.55-meter explorer. At just over 100-feet long, the explorer has interesting spaces for guests to utilize. An area that will be used frequently is the flybridge and this region is shaded by a large hardtop. There is a secondary helm station up there along with ample seating for guests. There is a bar, alfresco dining area, a Jacuzzi and sunbed area on this deck to provide great relaxation for her owner and guests.
  3. The renderings suggest that the yacht may be called "Northland" but there is no confirmation on this. The owner wanted a long-range explorer yacht for cruising and fishing the world's sportfishing hot spots. They are also working closely with the Miami-based Luiz de Basto Designs to fulfill their whims onboard the yacht. She has a contemporary interior that is based on browns and beiges with a hint of colour splashes. Being built to ABS classification, the yacht is going to be powered by twin Caterpillar C18 main engines. She will have a cruising range of approximately 4000 nautical miles at 9.5-knots continuously. This custom-built Burger is scheduled for a spring 2017 delivery.
