Project K40 At CCN Build Progress

Construction work is progressing apace on the Project K40/ Kanga build at Cerri Canteri Navali. She is presently on track to be launched later this year for her American owner. The yacht was sold back in third quarter of 2015 and is envisioned as an explorer cruiser. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure the 500GT yacht takes its design lines from Studio Sculli. To adequately fulfill her explorer status the steel hull has been further reinforced to be able to handle light ice conditions.

The displacement yacht will have a top speed of 16-knots thanks to a pair of CAT C32 ACERT marine diesels rated at around 1,450 horse power each. A continuous 10-knot speed should see her range extend to around 5,400 nautical miles which is plenty endurance for an exploration mission. Five cabins are available to house as many as twelve guests. Two doubles and two twins are for guests while the owner has a master suite. Multiple exterior areas fore and aft aid in the deck acreage for guests to utilize. One of the nicer features onboard will be the beach club on the aft lower deck which will be capable of being converted into a cinema space for guests.
