Moonen launches 42-meter megayacht "Sofia"​

Moonen celebrated a significant launch recently and that was for the 42-meter megayacht "Sofia", a fully custom yacht catering to the whims of the desiring owner. Sofia is so custom a megayacht that as the project was being built the owner was still making changes and alterations to the build. You would remember the original project was extended a couple feet to it's current length to accommodate the owner's desire to have a three-person (two guests and captain) submarine onboard. The submarine itself is by U-Boat Worx. On the inside, entertainment will be top-notch with the extensive custom video server and custom multi-interface controls via Ipad for window treatments, lighting, interior control of the climate. If this wasn't enough, the interior of Sofia, like many other Moonen yachts is by the artful Art-Line Interiors.

Hull number 194 (Sofia) has a design by René van der Velden and Naval Architecture by Stolk Marimecs Bv. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure Sofia comes in at under 500 GT. She will be able to sleep up to twelve guests in a Master Stateroom and four doubles and a convertible cabin. The MCA classed vessel is 41.76-meters, just shy of 42-meters, with a beam of 8.90-meters and a full draft of 2.40-meters. Sofia rolled out of the shed and is now in the water having final works done to her in preparation for sea trials and hand over.
