International Shipyards Ancona:The Alexandar V is a new yacht underconstruction by ISA and is being built upon the successful platform of the seven-model 47M series. The Alexandar V is 48M in length and is being called a special edition of the 47M series even though it technically will not belong to the series.

The Walter Franchini design is touted to be a genuine departure from tradition. A beautifully designed stern coupled with the trademark aft staircase interact with all decks, giving easy access.

As ISA puts it, the 480 will be a highly innovative project. The style of the vessel was partially chosen at the time and as a result more details will be forthcoming. The Alexandar V is expected to be launched in Summer 2008.

    The Sale of Junie

April 21, 2008:International Shipyards Ancona: "The Sale of Junie": ISA have announced the sale of the Junie. The Junie is a new all composite yacht from the very famous 120 foot production series.

Even though there is a significant number of yachts of the ISA120 series adorning the seas and marinas of the world, the popularity continues to grow. This popularity manifested itself in the sale of the Junie.

The Junie combines all the looks of the other units in the class with aggressive yet subtle and clean lines. Style, performance and function are the tenents of this beauty while offering a voluminous interior that is hardly seen for a vessel this size.

The interior has been emphasized much with the owner opting for a classic internal affair. This is backed up by the proliferation of mahogany furniture and pieces throughout. The saloon floor is adorned with a glossy wenge' finish.

Here is a description of the accommodation: "Heated marble for the bathrooms’ floor. The master cabin has been developed on two levels, the feature of this yacht that makes every visitor fall in love with her. The guest area on the lower deck will have 2 twins and 2 doubles."

Even more interesting is the versatility of the Sun-Deck, "The sumptuous sun deck is equipped with a sunbed that, through an electric system, can turn into a table with “teppanyaky” cooking top, the Jacuzzi and the bar area with dumb waiter, grill, hot plate, fridge and everything is needed for joyful parties on board."

The power-package of these ISA120 units is always impressive and beckons for your attention. Junie is to be powered by 3 X MTU 2000 M93 engines. 2 X lateral water-jet propellers as well as 1 X central booster that will ensure Junie reaches a 35 knot top speed.

The Junie is expected to be launched and delivered sometime in late July of 2008. It leaves me to say that "Junie is another fiberglass wonder."

ISA is building a new marina with 10 berths for yachts up to 90-meters long and offering a maximum draught of 6-meters. The marina's purpose is for yachts at work or vessels in transit. The location puts it just a few minutes away from the the Ancona International Airport. The marina is said to be an excellent base for charters into Croatia. The ISA marina undertaking is expected to be completed in 2010.

    ISA acquires new travel lift

International Shipyards Ancona, has a new travel lift available for the hauling and launching of yachts weighing up to 400 tonnes. Yet another important service offered by the Ancona shipyard's AFTER SALES & REFIT Business Unit.

This travel lift makes for great flexibility and operative efficiency, as modular length slings can be used and a couple of mobile scales, to allow for the hauling of boats of all different shapes and sizes. The movement system allows for all sorts of manouvre, including diagonal and 90-degree translation. Within the ISA shipyard marina, an 11-meter wide basin has been created, with a depth of approximately 6-meters to be used for hauling and launch operations involving the new travel lift.

The services offered and the extremely high level of technical skill of all staff involved in managing ISA's new AFTER SALES & REFIT Business Unit, have immediately attracted the attention of important users: a 44-meter long yacht from Dutch Heesen shipyard has been hauled, which has already carried out some works under warranty in the ISA Shipyard, in addition to the launch of all-modern 350-tonnes supply vessel produced by the Ancona-based company.

Logistics and operative collaboration with the Wally group continues in full flow as they chose the ISA shipyard marina for the final outfitting of their sailing boats prior to delivery. As from April 2009, three Wally mega yachts have already transited from the ISA quays: one 40-meter and two 30-meters. The hospitality of the ISA marina to all yachts in transit in the Adriatic also continues incessantly. Some of the most important yachts to stop by ISA recently include "Addiction", "Ocean Mercury", "Audacia" "Ilona" and "Sibelle".

The "Midnight Sun II" seems to have had a refit involving the extension of her wheelhouse. She also looks to have been repainted as well. Anyone with pictures?
