Does anybody have an Onan MDKD 8kw, single phase, 60Hz electrical back end for sale? (page 51 of parts manual)

Or a maybe a complete set with broken engine?

Do need help to ship to Miami, from there I will arrange shipping to Curaçao.

Any other options? Please let me know!

Look up a MDKAL. 9kw driven by a 3 cly Kubota. Onan round generator end. Relay board has about 7 relays and an epoxy filled control/regulator box.

Motor sucked some water. Control and sound box rusted out. Armature and windings were good when motor died 2 years ago, I was told and why I've been keeping it. I have never Ohm'd it out.

Dust collector. If it's any help, it's yours. It was 'spose to be working when I scraped the motor. It's another item in my rented mini where-house I need to clear. Just pay for my time in shipping it to you from Jax FL.

Places can rebuild the electrical end if yours is intact.

Yes, but shipping it to the US and then back to Curaçao is very expansive...

Should we start from a beginning? What makes you think you need an electrical end? There are field repairable components. What symptoms are you having?

Any troubleshooting already preformed? Was that with coffee or rum? I do prefer the rum technique but it uses up extra resources;; fuel..

Onan sells diode packs, regulators, exciters, resistors and crimps separately for a reason. Most of these fit in an mail envelope or small (very small) box.

I have al manuals and a professional checked everything and its 100% sure the windings are in bad condition due to corrosion and have short circuits. There is also a lot of rust on the end. The engine runs like new, no smoke, good compression and everything is serviced recently before I shipped my Post to Curaçao. So a another end will hopefully push the purchase of a new one, some years…

    My deal is still good.
BUT, If your really in love with the motor and want a dependable electrical end, Bend over and order a new one in. You may have some warranty protection also.

Rcrapps, you’re my hero if you find a new one for me! Please don’t misunderstand me, I'm very pleased, honored and proud you as a fellow Post owner offered me yours at cost, but a new one fits better in my long term plans of course!

Yes, I encourage a new one. I'll Call around.
I will need the serial and spec number.

However, I love the Post and am impressed with the Post owners. BUT, I'm a vintage Bertram MY owner.
Lets just say, Fellow Real wagon owners...

I had the back end of my Onan 8kw redone less than 100 hrs ago. Now it needs a ring job and I have decided to replace it with a new Cummins/Onan 9kw. If you would like to talk more about it let me know. I will send you over a sheet on what all they did. Just put a new water pump on it in July as well. It might be a good one for you for parts as they are getting harder to find.
