A another bright star inthe Roamer firmament!
Of course, now you are obligated to tell us her hull # (RDP-38-5**); name and a bit of history. See model-specific info here:
http://www.geocities.com/alloyed2sea/Riviera_Regal_38.html We're keeping a list of "Known Survivors" - which I can send you via private email.
In any case, will let all interested parties know about her.

38' Chris Craft - MSD advice
I just want to let you know I bought this boat last week. I have a Glastron 249 and my wife and I were looking for something bigger. This boat is in the same marina as we are and we went for it.
I will be looking for tips and anything you can think of to help me learn the ropes of a boat this big.
The first thing is the MSD has to be replaced. Currently there is a porta-potty.
Anyone have any information/recommendations for a replacement?
I found a number painted on the hull 691926.
Is this the ID?
That number appears to be a Coast Guard Documentation number that has long since expired. That record is for a 38' boat last documented with the name "E-Z Weigh" The Chris Craft hull ID is a different series of letters and numbers.
I found the hull ID. This information is for the survivor spreadsheet:
1969 Regal (AL)
was - Angel Lee - (working on a new name, we seem to specialize in removing names)
Watkins Glen, NY
T/454 closed loop, no fly bridge, bought 2008, added swim platform
What a fantastic find.
Changed over to 454s myself - not having the best of luck, but then again they were takeouts.
The 38 Regal is truly a joy to own - low maintenance and super strong -- for once the sales brochure was correct!
Appreciate the hull# very (very) much - can report that out of 12 Regal 38' hulls, we have accounted for at least six now - afloat and doing well:
Let me know iffin' you want an updated copy of the "List of Known Survivors" - pretty interesting facts and stories.
Who knows, maybe you can become a "Roamer Spotter" someday - we have eyes all over the world!!
PS - "Aluminaut" is still available.
