    Has anybody around the Treasure Coast had to deal with the green goo? Is it as bad as they say in the news reports?

    Every year it gets worse, but this time it's on a scale never seen before. It's a toxic sludge that wreaks of decaying marine life...

    It's as far South as Peanut Island now. (Just inside Port of Palm Beach).

    You will get ill just from the smell of what the StJohns river is puking north this year already.
    People want their green lawns.....

    In the southern area, it's actually seen at Fort Myers too as it's really flowing from the Okeechobee. I don't know about yours, Ralph.

    The head waters to the St Johns river are shared wet lands north of Lake Okeechobee. From there, it (the St Johns) suffers the same abuse and fate as the lake and it's exiting water ways, injected with runoffs full of pollutants and fertilizers.

    Remember, the St Johns river is a rare (in the US) north flowing river.
    Lake O's runoff heads E,W & South thru the glades.

    So far, we haven't noticed anything on the ICW in North Palm Beach or here at Old Port Cove. There is a warning about no swimming at Peanut Island, but that is not due to the toxic algae. We are heading north through Stuart to Fort Pierce on Tuesday. Reports there say that the water at City Marina is clear of the algae, due to the current through the marina. We went to Juno Beach yesterday and saw no effects; plenty of folks in the water.

    Anyone know if the algae is in manatee pocket at sailfish marina?

    It was, not sure currently. Call Sailfish Marina and ask the marina staff if it is.

    Was in Sailfish a few days last week and minimal signs of Green algae in the marina. Bathtub Beach has a little with the out going tide
