I've requested the moderators to erase the previous thread of the same name because of copyright infringements on the pictures I'd posted. So let's start with a clean slate! After searching the internet extensively, I find it strange that there are hardly any pictures out there of "New Horizon L" before she became "White Cloud", especially because she used to be a high profile yacht which was featured in many publications. Does anybody on this forum have (access to) pictures of this yacht? I did, however, find three short videos of the owner entertaining tv crews on his yacht: Prince de Lignac shows us his boat - YouTube 03 The Prince De Lignac's Yacht - YouTube Klazien uit Zalk vertelt.... - YouTube In the erased thread ombreetsoleil posted a nice anecdote about the yacht: Surely there must be more anecdotes around relating to NHL? Any additional information on New Horizon L is very welcome indeed!

Any pictures would be welcome, really. The only ones I've got now are the ones that were commissioned by the owner for his own book about the yacht which, due to copyright issues, can't be posted on this forum. Apart from that there don't seem to be a lot of pictures of NHL around prior to her refit as White Cloud. So, any new pictures will be much appreciated!
It appears Falcon Lair (ex-White Cloud) is undergoing yet another extensive refit. It will be interesting to see her new profile when completed. http://www.ardell.com/article.cfm?a=479
I would be more interested in what was behind the profile of this 30 some year old yacht. I have sailed on a Van Lent yacht of a similar vintage and things were definitely starting to wear out at a rate faster than they could be repaired without a large cash injection and the accompanying downtime.
No names, but I was recently aboard one of the first Feadship's I covered as a writer and it has not weathered the years well. There's no way of knowing exactly what a yacht has endured over time, but some brands seem to fair better than others. Primer and paint cover a multitude of sins, but time has a way of uncovering the truth.
. Falcons Lair has launched and looks more like an Oceanco design superstructure -mast wise with the exception of the reverse stern. Certainly has lost all resemblance to White Cloud / New Horizon L. Quite the face lift and new life for the old girl.
