    New Build: Delta 151' Katya

Earlier this year, Delta Yachts announced the debut of the 151 foot full displacement yacht Katya. The vessel is both Lloyd’s and MCA classed. Her exterior is styled by the in-house Delta Design Group, who is also responsible for the engineering package. Dominated by a long, raised sheer line with gentle slope, her profile is a combination of classic and cutting edge design.

A centerline walkway splits the forward portion of the superstructure and large hull-side windows echo the sweep of the sheer line while lengthening her stance. The result? A sleek and graceful presence on the water. KATYA’s Owners, an American family from the Midwest, wanted to create an interior that is elegant yet comfortable - spaces suitable for your family and home.

Working in collaboration with their designer, Jean-Claude Canestrelli and the Delta Design Group, they chose dark figured khaya veneers, amboina and maple burls, and crotch mahogany as the feature woods. The main salon is draped with views through large windows and curved glass entry doors flanked with a mirrored set of handsome bar cabinets.

Guest and service traffic will flow easily forward past the glass encased art displays into the dining salon where a custom mahogany dining table is anchored with a bow-front hutch. Matching buffets both port and starboard are finished in crotch mahogany with stone tops. The full-width master, located forward on the main deck, again features large hull-side windows perfect for taking in the morning sunshine or enjoying a moonlight starry sky. Below deck are four ample size guest cabins with a watertight passage way for easy access to the crew quarters.

Like the main living spaces, the guest areas will feature warm tones, satin finishes, painted overheads and soft upholstered wall panels. The yacht’s stone-floored foyer and central staircase act as a focal point with fine craftsmanship and dramatic curves. A second staircase provides crew access from the galley to the upper deck.

The galley features a large walk-in refrigerator and freezer, butler’s pantry and generous storage for dry goods. A third staircase provides access below deck to the main crew area with mess and accommodations for eight. Captain’s quarters are located aft of the wheelhouse on the upper deck. Her decks, with ample walk-arounds, provide a variety of areas for entertaining and dining.

In addition to the aft dining area on the main deck, the upper deck is also configured with a generous outdoor dining area for ten. Inside is an open, casual skylounge with bar, game table and great views of the outdoors. This space is perfect for dining for two, or a cocktail party for more. If it is the sun you are after then just continue up one more level and meet the sun deck. A wonderful area equipped with a bar, hot tub, lots of lounge chairs, a day head and stowaway workout equipment – all of this, and little reason to leave.

KATYA is powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3508 engines and has zero-speed stabilizers with an integrated central hydraulic system. The engine room is complete with an enclosed control room and engineers office. The main tender is stowed in an aft opening garage with a hydraulically actuated cradle for deployment. A second crew tender is stowed on the upper deck with jet skis and toys.
