What is the standard commision earned by a dealer on a large yacht I have heard that 20% is fairly standard, does this ring true?

By commisioning a similar custom yacht will I save this or will the savings be taken by design fees etc?

I was considering the sunseekers largest model.

    Thanks

    Jon

Never heard of a 20% commission on a large yacht. As an independent broker you can have 5% on a new construction where you have to spend a lot of time and travel expenses during construction.

On design fees, you are saving more than you pay if you have the right designer...:)

    New build 5 %
Used Boats normally 10% ( mostly split between Owners broker and sellers broker )
Sometimes seller fix a net sales price and the broker put his money on top.

Make an offer of 70 % of the first asking price and wait
