  1. New Concept: Feadship "F-Stream" Concept
Feadship unveils the latest Feadstream at Monaco

The all-new concept for the 55-meter F-stream design was also the recipient of some serious inquiries by potential owners, who shared the vision of Studio De Voogt as to the where luxury yachting might be heading. Like the X-stream design unveiled in 2006, the F-stream is the product of a commitment by Feadship to anticipate future client demands. As a part of this, the organization carries out systematic market research and explores (near) future technology. The F-stream synthesizes the very latest developments in hull design, glass construction technology and aesthetics. Its hybrid propulsion package hints at a new age of comfortable power. Two dieselelectric cycloidal propulsion-rudder systems offer dynamic positioning, silent cruising and efficient roll damping and – in passive mode – can also serve as rudders. Meanwhile, twin diesel-direct driven fully submerged axial water jets offer higher speeds.

The layout of the F-stream reflects how more and more owners are using yachts in the 21st century. The master stateroom is located aft on the bridge deck, ensuring family privacy, and there is a spacious private sundeck. The solar paneled top deck contains another get-away area called ‘The Snug’, and there are two water recreation zones on the low open beach deck and fold down platform amidships. The last opportunity this year to see the F-stream on display will be at Feadship's exhibition stand at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 25 – 29, 2007).
