    Hi friends,

This question comes to me often, ......wich taxes are you paying in other countries when you buy a new boat?

In Spain if the new boat is smaller than 7,5 mts (24') we pay 16% VAT.
If the new boat is bigger than 7,5 mts (24') we pay 16% VAT + 12% registry.

I think in England and France they only pay VAT (around 19-20%).

At the end, a spanish yacht owner pays only in taxes 28% of the value of the boat, just when you pay the invoice.

If the boat is second hand, and at the first delivery the 28% was paid, you only pay 4% (Property Trasmission Tax for used goods).

    Regards,
