I've noticed Racor came out with new Racor elements for the 1000's,900's and 500 turbine series about a year ago. They seem to be identical but have a black top and are slightly thinner in diameter. Racor-filter site (which actually sells them direct extremely cheap BTW $8.03 for racor 1000 elements), says they're just made in the new plant and use the same aquabolic media, have a better handle on them, etc. etc. and are the new version and work in all turbine series. But my wholesalers have tons in stock of both versions old and new......Has anyone noticed if they're the same as the old ones in performance, better or no difference?

I did run the newer filters thru our last vacation. If you remember, I was chasing water & snot issues from my stern tank.
I'm here to tell you, they both work exactly the same.
(I'm NOT smiling when I state this).
