  1. ACR Electronics, Inc. Forms Bridge Information Group...

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL * OCTOBER 17, 2005 * Expanding its position in the commercial marine sector, U.S.-based ACR Electronics, Inc. today announced a new suite of ACR-branded bridge information technologies that, with agency approvals, will soon be made available to commercial shipping and recreational yachting customers through a network of dealers and installers around the world.

These products stem from the earlier announced alliance with Norwegian-based Maritime Information Systems AS MARIS. This alliance combines ACR's strengths in electronics design, manufacture, sales and marketing with MARIS systems and software expertise to create a formidable team.

    The new product line includes:

--ECDITRACK: Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)

Available in desktop, split solution and pedestal versions, ACR's ECDITRACK offers a total navigation situation appraisal on one integrated display, including charts and, when integrated, ARPA radar and AIS, thus eliminating the need to move between instruments. The ECDITRACK is designed in accordance with IMO/IEC requirements for Integrated Navigation Systems. The ECDITRACK displays official HO S-57 ENCs along with raster charts produced by several official hydrographic offices including Admiralty Raster Charts. The units enable extremely precise bearings to lights and landmarks at long ranges as well as greatly reduce workload in the production of Voyage Plans.

    --PILOTRACK:

The PILOTRACK: is a real-time harbor pilot navigation tool based on ECDIS software with enhanced log, annotation and data update features that allows harbor pilots to work wirelessly through a bluetooth-enabled laptop and a special bluetooth transceiver plugged into a ship¹s AIS through the pilot plug. The PILOTRACK system provides a clear display of AIS targets on top of S-57 ENCs all in a compact portable package.

    --RADARTRACK: PC Radar Kit

An ARPA radar overlay allows users to turn their PC into advanced radar and tracking system. The PC Radar Kit can be combined with a compatible ECDIS or Electronic Chart System to display the radar image on top of the chart. The ACR tracking system has a unique capacity of up to 3,000 targets (Pentium IV), which are tracked automatically and displayed on request. This unique technology allows the display of new targets much faster than other systems (typically it takes two seconds to display a target and vector). RADARTRACK, with multi-ARPA licenses, may be installed on several computers operating on a local area network.
