I have a friend looking at both of these boats and plans to buy one in the next year. I'm more experienced with sportfishing boat so I'm looking for some info on both boats, overall quality, ride, construction, rigging. Which one would you buy???
A Hatteras is a Hatteras, not a clorox bottle. They have a solid reputation for a reason. A Marquis may look nice to some, may be comfortable, but you cannot beat a Hatt. They are tough, well built, all weather vessels.
As much as i agree generally speaking on the Hatt being well built I m not so sure that the latest Brunswick models look that much different from the typical chlorox bottles seen at so many marinas These Brunswick boats have very little in common with the ground breaking Hargrave designs of Hatteras early days with euro styling compromising things like aft deck size, tender storage, bow area, etc
For what it's worth, the Hatteras motor yacht is 11 tons heavier than the Marquis. Maybe more solidly built but fuel can be a consideration for this size yacht.
