This 48' Egg Harbor Convertible located in Ft. Lauderdale is Hull #1 built in 1978 and actually commissioned in 1985.

In 1995 it was completely refit by Merritt Boat Works in Pompano Beach, Florida - This refit was quite extensive and included electrical and plumbing systems.

In 2005 the same owner brought it back to Merritt Boat Works again this time to have new decks installed which were Man Tech decks. They also did a teak cap rail on the bridge along with teak toe rails along the bow.

In 2006/7 she was refit again (Merritt Boat Works) with all new Tank, Bulkheads, Fish boxes, Live bait wells, Freezers, Fridges, and Canvas.

In 2008 the engines went through a $117,000.00 Major Overhaul and have a total of 30 hours since, this included the J&T package.

In 2009 all the A/C's were replaced with new units, New Water maker, along with all new Hoses and Engine Plumbing as well.

This vessel has all documentation showing all the work done over the years and is an absolutely amazing machine and part of Yachting History. Again all the custom and refit work was done by Merritt Boat Works in Pompano Beach, FL. The Engines were done in Cape Fear, NC.

This Egg Harbor is a 2 stateroom 2 head layout with her galley down to starboard. both heads have stall showers. she is powered with Twin Detroit Johnson & Towers 8v92's 550hp each. her exterior is equipped with the following; davit, outriggers, rocket launchers, spreader lights, windlass, 2 year old bridge enclosures, fighting chair, cockpit fridge and sink as well as ample tackle storage. The salon has new icemaker and wetbar and a tv/entertainment center. Galley is equipped with full size fridge, sink, microwave, and a range top. Forward stateroom is a v berth, Port Stateroom has 2 twin beds. The flybridge has 2 helm seats plus removable 3rd chair, overhead electronics box with 48 mile Furuno 36 mile open array radar, Northstar 800 loran, chart plotter and a newer GPS, Datamarine trip log, auto pilot, Glendenning engine synchronizers, vhf radios, and SSB. This model is such a classic for the era, one of my all-time favorite "lookers", the proportions are just about perfect. She was also ahead of her times with the larger 8V-92 power package.

With the Merritt pedigree behind all the refit work, can't believe how affordable she is!

Thanks to both of you. Yes it's in nice shape and a lot of boat for the money. Just needs some TLC and an attentive owner. That and to start getting some blood on the deck again. :)
