Feadship Launches 34.6-meter "CID"

Yesterday saw the launch of the latest pocket yacht from Feadship. The 34.6-meter "CID" is now in the water after being brought out of the shed in the presence of her new owner. About two months ago, Feadship launched another 34.6-meter called "Letani" for a Far Eastern customer. The owner of CID is looking to press their yacht into service immediately and cruise the Norwegian Fjords and then the Mediterranean later in Summer. In Winter, CID will be repositioned to the the other side of the Atlantic so she can explore Mexico's west coast and parts of California.

The interior has been done by Bannenberg & Rowell using prized woods such as Wenge, Oak and Walnut with interior furnishings selected by Marty Lowe. The exterior of the all-aluminium yacht is by De Voogt and showcases modern and fresh styling characterized by large expanses of glass and a sizable sun deck area where much of the social activities of the owner and guests will be centered. The owner likes the small size of the yacht because they will be able to access small bays and coves that larger yachts will not. Power is by a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M93s that will be able to push CID to 20-knots but also allow for decent fuel consumption for a range of 3,300 nautical miles.
