Exactely! Many countries have a just as respectable justice system than the US, and this "Go america" flag waving on such a subject was totally misappropriate.
Besides that, VikHatBer's other comment on how "good" it is that some stay for 25 years in death row is something - sorry - I do not think should be glorified. This is close to torture, and the fact that is gives more time for appeal and appeal again (and eventually death penalty abandon) makes only the lawyers happy.
However: that the World gets rid of this sub-human forever is not something I am going to cry upon!

according to the article, then wife Jenny was just as culpable for this crime, but no mention is made of her sentence. i smell a plea.

nice much better than death, especially for the young (and i am not an anti-death sentence mole) if we could get the appeals run through within 5 years, death penalty is the way to fly.

The Modern Day Italians are descendants of the Romans and they knew quite a bit about rowing around the place even if they were just the ones giving the instructions to the actual ones manning the oars.

If we take the steam engine and continue to improve on it, it would eventually become as efficient as the internal combustion, and continue on improving. It was a fascinating aspect of technology i never thought about. If something does not replace the existing tech, it continues to improve until it can reach dizzying levels

Sailing for instance, Cat and trimarans ( actually improvements of very old polynesian Technology) now sail at speeds thought impossible a decade ago. Technology kept improving to allow even sail power to become competitive.

It will be interesting to see what sailing looks like in 100 years, what improvements in technology will bring.
