My wife and I just watched the Nautistyles walk through of this yacht yesterday - https://www.**************/yacht/2018-allseas-expedition-8579360/

It’s been on the market for three years and has come down $1.5Million since the video was posted on YouTube.

It seems to have all the earmarks of a good explorer yacht - range, redundancies, storage … yet it is still sitting. I’d love to hear from those much more experienced than I why that is.

Overpriced. Otherwise it would have sold. I’ve shown it. Back when it was nearly new. The build quality is probably not an issue but I don’t know about performance. I was never onboard underway.

Besides the price, in my opinion it has an odd layout. I think the main deck salon is way too small. It’s got one three cushion sofa to sit on. That’s it. The pilot house lounge seats more people. The largest social gathering space is the galley.

It was built by the family from a well known move yourself truck rental company.

No. Different blue hull boat. This one’s always been right side up.

I agree with the layout being odd. And very … blah. The settees (sp?) in the cabins have a very … unique fabric. The choice of hardware for the heads is also interesting. It seems maybe like one of the family did the decorating. Would it be excessive to redo the layout in a boat with a structure that’s as sound as this boat appears to have?

Those who are rolling in dough often spend millions more to refit a rig they already paid many millions for to begin with. As a group they tend to be particular.

Yes it would be excessive. But most everything they do is.

Could be maybe that’s an old spec. I seem to recall they did a trip from San Diego to somewhere in the South Pacific and back. Not 100% sure. I think there’s another 92’ Allseas that has a similar house and also a blue hull. It could have been the other one.

As I recall, there was some lawsuit history with the builders' in-fighting and also with original owners. At one point, one of the AllSeas was at a boat show and the owner was aboard and I asked him why the "over-pricing" and he said he had mega-lawsuit money to recover. I don't know which hull #s were involved and I am not saying that this one in discussion was one of them. I'm just saying before someone gets check-writing interested, maybe investigate to see that the original build issues were resolved.

There is a sister boat for sale, asking considerably less money but with even stranger design features - like a post in the middle of the cockpit.

That Blue boat- we call it Flipper- has been on the hard in Anacortes for years. Rumors abound about potential buyers, insurance company owner not selling, etc. Someone is paying storage on her though.

Anacortes seems to have a thing for roll-over boats -- Not Mentioning any names :)

Buyers need to be careful when in WA and talk about "flipping" boats.

An acquaintance was on that vessel a few years ago as part of a sea trial. He said it had some serious performance issues but I don't recall the specifics.
