Yes, the remote is a given and part of the spec. Motoryachtlover nailed it exactly.

I can see why a stern thruster would be much easier in your situation. Whereas splitting the gears works, you have finer control and can feather a thruster much better than just using the wheels. At least that’s been my experience.

I agree, but in my case it's really about holding station in a lock or holding the boat to the dock while securing.

I just took a gander through the jetthruster site. Would need a dual pump and four ports for boats over 50' with a fair amount of cabin height(most power yachts). Getting pretty pricey just for the materials. Labor would be higher as well. Looks like a very nice setup with the jet pump, but the cost is a bit high.

I to looked into, I couldn't get follow-up to my attempts to put a package together.
I decided I didn't need to work that hard to spend money.
So I found a guy that cares.

My dart board said about 20k Euros for the bits, and maybe 90-100 hours installed for the dual 90Kg. Lotta plumbing and lotta batts too.

My dart board for the Side Thruster seems to be $5600 for the unit delivered to the shop, and about $7500 install, maybe a bit less if I have the bottom job done at the same time.

Your dart board is pretty close.
