I just can not imagine driving a car without hearing the sound of the engine, a nice sounding engine if possible. It just has to go together, it s part of the experience. Doesnt have to be loud... there are too many butchered cars out there that have ruined by what their owners consider cool exhaust you cn hear 4 blocks away...

Electric cant give you that extra pleasure. It s like shifting.... sure high tech paddles shifters will do it 10 times faster but the satisfaction you get from a nice series of downshifting while matching the revs is, for me, on the same level as the sound of a nice engine

I m still trying to decide which sound i prefer between my Busso V6 or my Jaguar V12... no humming buzzing electric for me

Finally, Tesla has what we want, a true sports car. In our mind, it must be a convertible to be one. We were even slightly tempted by the old Spider they had but this one has taken us beyond just temptation. We do hold you this forum personally responsible as it was where we first saw this last night and precipitated a very expensive phone call this morning.

As to the sound, we find the thought exhilarating. To be able to quietly perform is magnificent. This will even happen in all auto racing in the not so distant future and we'll all learn to appreciate speed without an invasion on our eardrums.

As to Tesla's stock it still is mind boggling to me to be so outrageously priced with no profits or results to justify it, but all based on future promise.

I think the base price of the Roadster was quoted at $200k with the founders edition being $250k; either price a relative bargain in the bang-for-the-buck category.

Agree with OB on Tesla stock, but after all... the stock market is legalized gambling.

Zero to 80 MPH in about 5 seconds and still wanting to go................of course my wife will never drive it like that, zero to 60 mph in about minute or two.

Great car with about 110,000 KM's on the clock and meticulously maintained by the owner, who was a Mercedes mechanic.

I'm on the fence. They did a good job capturing the essence of the FT-1 concept and I'm not opposed to BMW underpinnings, but... this is a very small car! Only a few inches longer than a BRZ or FT-86. Even the wheelbase is shorter than the aforementioned.

Waiting to see the ME C8...

The gas cap door might be an indicator of this car's size. The door is either oversize or this car is one rung above an 1/8 scale RC car...

The biggest BRZ/GT86 complaint since Day 1 has been "needs more power"... so this could be the answer. I have nothing against the size, personally.

I do, however, feel the price is higher than it should be. Two grand less will get you a 480 hp Mustang Bullitt.

One of the reasons I never drove that NSX was due to a glazing truck incident. I pulled up next to one at a stoplight that was transporting a large mirror. It was the first time I had actually seen myself in the car. I looked like Santa stuck in a chimney!

Agreed, the Supra is what the GT86 should have been. Easy to see why Toyota partnered with BMW after that blunder. Risky to tool-up for a sports cars these days. Just ask Acura. Only sold 160 NSX's in 2018.

I went to Supercar Week on Flagler yesterday. All the usual suspects... ridiculously overpriced, questionably engineered statements to good credit. Ton of guys half my age driving these cars and I'm making payments on a 4 runner. Should re-examine my career path!

Ya' can't call the FR-S/86/BRZ a blunder... vs. the Miata/MX-5 (it's single closest competitor) it's been largely successful.

Outselling (by nearly 2 to 1) the best selling two-seater of all time seems like the opposite of a blunder.

Now about the NSX.... pushing the price up into Porsche 911 Turbo, and even base model McLaren territory? That's a blunder. They shouldn't have aimed for the "supercar" market and instead made a "super sportscar" like Nissan has with the GT-R.

Had no idea the Toyobaru sold that well! Always thought it was ill-received by the market due to being under-powered and under-sized.

I think the only people that really complained about the size are those who thought "2+2" actually meant 2 adults up front, and 2 adults in the back.

Makes you wonder why they even bothered. The backseat is barely big enough for a bag of groceries!

Currently purging bounced emails from the database. Took all weekend to work through 2018. Spent yesterday doing 2017. Started on 2016 this morning. Hoping to finish 2016 by this evening. Copy, paste, delete and repeat about a thousand times a day. Uhg!

The 2020 Supra is a nice distraction. Haven't seen this much buzz about a car in awhile.
