hi I am considering putting a bow bench cushion and sun screens over the windshield(added a lower helm)I am unsure whether to go black canvis on the cushion or off white vynle to match boat, same thing on the sun screens,I am not sure if it will lose the sport fisher look by putting a black cushion and screens,i am thinking about putting a sun lounge pad on the fordeck with built in headrest and putting a hinged top on the bait tank as a cocktail table for the bench, has anybody done any of this or anything cool on the bow, Please post pics would love to see them Thanks Matt
If you leave the cushions on the seat all the time, water that gathers under them will create blisters. that means you need to stow them in the cabin somewhere.
Thanks for the info,I was going to cover the cushions in black canvas or an off white (same color as boat) I am in Sausalito California , rarely see 85 degrees
Thanks ,that is a really good point I didn't think of that, there is alot of moisture in the air in the Bay Area
Would you use that cushion very much? The rake of that front window is very uncomfortable to lean against. Just a thought.
Bow rider? Party deck? In use under way? How ya gonna to get up there to use them. Young uns and da ladies are going to have a time crawling around the out riggers & tip toe up the sides.
Thanks for your thoughts guys, the ladies like to lay in the sun ,I am going to buy inflatable air mattresses to put on the bow....if you put the cocktails and some new shoes on the bow they will climb over anything to get up there
On my boat (no longer have) I had a cushion that went all the way across that bench. I kept DriDek tiles underneath it to allow the water to drain. I had a black canvas cover made for the bench and another black canvas cover to go over the windows. I eventually glassed in the windows but kept the cover as I liked the look The bow area was a very popular location when it was allowed.
Thank you for sharing a picture ,that's nice looking boat, great idea with the dry deck tiles, I put a white phifertext cover over the windows, matches the gel coat pretty good ( I'll post picture next time I am on my boat)and still thinking about the bow bench cushion
Never understood why Post put that bench up there in the first place. Although I do enjoy sitting up there when at anchor watching the sun set and having a cocktail.
I an not sure either, but it does seem to add room inside the salon. I have some storage under bench from inside and an air handler. Also, i think my fridge snugs up under the bench?
I also used the Dri-Deks under the bed foam mattresses. We had the twin bunks on the port bow and twin bunks in the main stateroom. The Dr-deks helped with ventilation under the foam. My interior cabinets used that space.
West Marine to make some real nice folder seat bench that's navy blue that works well that's what I used and when you fold it up it flattens right out and when you put it to use since just like a a chair like a chair there about a hundred bucks at West Marine they were work real well
I saw those at west marine they sure are proud of them at $149 each, I noticed amazon has close to the same thing they are called stadium seats for about $35 each,I am sure they are not as umbrella type fabric...I think that really is the best solution
