For hydrographic purposes (coastal) I want to build an approx. 26' aluminium vessel V hull (beam 9' approx.) with 1 or 2 outboard engines (approx. 150 HP each). I like to know what deadrise to be used under these conditions. Cheers!

Hi, if you are not interested in very high speed in rough conditions, a variable deadrise is the best. From 15-18° at the transom to 45-55° at the bow.

You might also like to discuss questions of building small workboats on BDnet (boatdesign.net), there you will find lots of unqualified advice but also some help from various highly regarded professionals (many naval architects there).
