I figured we could get a little discussion on the forum and add a little fun to it.

    1. What are your 2 favorite destinations in Florida
    2. What type and size boat/yacht do you cruise on
    3. How long are your trips usually
    4. Why do you like choice 1+2
    5. What activities do you most enjoy on and off the boat. (water/land activities.)

    I'll start
    1. Naples and Key West
    2. Many different types of yachts, generally from 50'-75'
    3. 10-16 days
    4. Naples has a great small town feel but with nice shopping and restaurants on 5th ave. The people are nice, food is great, pier and beach are nice. Key West- many different activities to do from restaurants/bars to historic sites to good snorkling and fishing, and there's always something fun going on there.
    5. Sightseeing, snorkling, and fishing (water). On land restaurants, sight seeing historic sights, limited shopping.

Darn, Capt J.....you cheated and stole mine.

    1. Naples and Key West. If I must pick two more, I'm going for West Palm and Clearwater.

    2. 63' - 130'

    3. 6 weeks, but then when home do weekend trips.

    4. Naples we like the small town but the beauty and the arts. We've been to the Opera there. Nice restaurants. Key West, we like the freedom and openness you see. West Palm, we like the art, the activities. Apalachicola, we love the local artists and going to their studios.

    5. On the boat. Well, can't list the first. We love being at the helm, enjoying the view. Also do music, take a keyboard and background with us. Hot tub. On land and in the tender, we just love to explore, see as much as possible, see what the community and people are about. We'll travel a hundred miles in the tender or walk many miles on shore. Love lighthouses. And some shopping but for unique local items.

Wow, Capt. J I've been sitting here for awhile now, and I can't narrow it down to just two. But I'll take some liberty with that number.
1.Anywhere in the Keys, St. Augustine, Venice, Sanibel and Captiva, Ft. Lauderdale.
    2. 28' Center Consoles-56' Trawlers
    3.7-28 days
    4. What can I say the Keys are the Keys. St. Augustine, the oldest city in the Country, has great food, lot's of sight seeing, and a bus tour of haunted St. Augustine is not to be missed. Venice will catch you completely off guard, a quiet little town with Main street covered in cobble stones. There's a Marina on the north side of town with a sea wall you can tie up to and have a great meal and an overnight stay. Sanibel and Captiva are must sees. Great fishing, Sanibel is known for it's famous beaches and for those of you who like shell gathering, there's no better place than Sanibel. You can walk the streets of Sanibel, and go in and out of brightly painted funky looking shops, and bars and restaurants, if you close your eyes, you'd swear you were somewhere in the Bahamas. Hands down the best Seafood on the West Coast. Find your way north to the Island of Captiva (yes they are connected by a very small 2 lane bridge) where you'll find the Green Flash Restaurant. Everything is that day Fresh, and cooked to perfection. If it's not the best meal you've had in Florida, I'll pay for your dinner.(does not include drinks:D)

St Augustine is nice and when the boat is in FL we are based in the Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood area. We always do a layover in St Augustine when heading north or south. When we take the boat out in Ft Lauderdale we usually do day cruises to Biscayne etc. or fish the gulf stream.

We don't tend to go places overnight in FL, if we have a week or two we go to the Bahamas. Typical trip is two weeks, a few times a year and we like the Exumas and Abacos.

Boat is 50 ft Viking SC and we fish, snorkel, dive, SUP, wake board, bike, etc, lots of water activities.

I was going to leave out the haunted St. Augustine tour, but thought twice about it, and decided I'd share. Their were 4 of us that night, and climbed aboard a Prevost bus for our two or three hour tour. We were told to turn off the flash on our digital cameras, and that "some" people could see the ghosts without the aid of a camera, but most people couldn't. Now from get go I was thinking this was a bunch of hooey, but didn't want to be a spoil sport, so with a drink in hand and a smile on my face decided to make the best of it. It was actually a very informative tour of the City, and when we got off at about 12 locations to hear about the murder's and deaths that took place we were told to take random photos at and around the structures, which I did. Well when we got back, I looked through the photos on the little screen and didn't see a thing. Figures. When I got back home I downloaded the photo's onto the hard drive, and low and behold were photo's of Orbs, and somewhat human figures! Now I tried to come up with some scientific reason, refraction of a street light, but everywhere we stopped was pitch black! So, I had to finally come to the conclusion that Spirits, beings do exist. It was a life long belief shot to hell. If I hadn't been there and used only my camera, I wouldn't have believed it. So whether or not we believe, doesn't mean that something does exist. Were they actually murdered souls? Or Ghosts? I'm not educated enough to say...I guess when I pass on to another level of Conscientiousness, I'll have an answer. But it was some form of Energy. A little heavy for a YF post. But next time you're in St. Augustine, take the Tour and bring your camera, and you tell me.
