March 05, 2008:Fano, Italy: Wally, a luxury manufacturer of custom and production sail and motor yachts have made progress in building of two 100 foot long sailing yachts. Wally have confirmed that its 100.3 foot long hull has been de-moulded and turned. On the other hand, the hull of the 101 footer has been repositioned. Both are now in the shed for fitting out processes.

The repositioning and reoriented hulls now allows for the next step in the construction process, fitting out. Also, they provide extra room in the shed for the initializing of the construction of the 73 foot long Wally Power motor yacht. The construction will start on this vessel in the second half of March, according to Wally.

May 1-4, 2008:Portofino, Italy:"Y3K wins the opening regatta of the Wally Class racing season."

"The 2008 edition of the Pirelli Trophy was held in Santa Margherita Ligure from 1st to 4th May and had a record of 135 boats participating.
The Wally Division was represented by Kauris III, Y3K, Magic Carpet Squared, Open Season, and J One. This year the Wallys are racing with the IRC handicap and the event was the first test of the rating system.

The lack of wind characterised the four days forcing the organisers to cancel four of the eight scheduled races.
On the first day, the two windward-leeward courses were raced with 7 and 11 knots of wind respectively. The first one was very tactical and the victory went to Magic Carpet Squared, while the second race with a more steady and strong wind had Y3K as the winner.
In the second and the fourth day –the third day had no race at all for the total lack of wind - only one race was held each day and both in very light and tricky conditions, with Y3K winning in the Wally division in both races as well as the regatta.

The competition was very tight as usual with Magic Carpet Squared and Y3K both very close to the victory until the last leg of the last race!

    Wally Division General result, 4 races with 1 discard: Y3K 3 p., Magic Carpet Squared 5 p., J One 7 p., Open Season 10 p., Kauris III 15 p..

The next appointment is the Giraglia Rolex Cup in Saint Tropez, from 8th to 14th June."

    "Indio" completed

The new "Indio" is a sailer

Monaco – "Indio" stands out for performance, style, quality, elegance, simplicity, design: the new 30-meter (100-foot) sloop perfectly embodies the Wally core values, and is a showcase of the moast advanced technologies. She is a remarkable super yacht that impressed everybody at her first appearance in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta.

Indio combines all the blue-water cruising amenities with the maxi-racer performance, fulfilling the requirements and expectations of the owner, who is a truly passionate yachtsman.

Every exterior and interior detail of the yacht has been carefully developed and designed by the Wally design studio in close collaboration with the client.
As a result, all the elements integrate into the overall design of Indio and contribute to its appeal, reflecting the typical and unique Wally approach to each project: the coherence of the design. Indio will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show, September 23-26.

Anyone know anything about this? Possibly a new brand from Wally? The website is under development.

Thanks Kevin! Interesting, but this is not the first time we have seen a yacht builder and a high end fashion or style company joining hands.

That's the subject of the why-yachts.com page that YachtNews posted. It's scheduled to go Live on the 23rd of September... which obviously coincides with the start of the Monaco Yacht Show. We'll find out what WHY Yachts is in 3 days.

WHY Yachts officially launched the website since the just concluded 19th Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). There is a video on the concept of the yacht and I can tell you it is appealing to say the least. I don't know whether the exterior is appealing though.

Wally stated that two units will be delivered by May and four before Summer is out...
So these 'nanos' would be delivered by now, so has anyone seen any of them?
