  1. Pascal,
Glad to hear the trip is going well. It is especially interesting for me to read about your trip as I ran that very same boat, when it was new, from Fort Lauderdale to Cleveland, Ohio. I also ran two different 65s up and down the East Coast and I have been very impressed with the Bill Dixon design of the Johnson.

    Pascal,
That sounds like you'll end up around Pt. Jefferson tomorrow. Just inside the harbor there's a nice cove to the west where you'll find shelter from the wind. If you fall short Lloyd Harbor in Huntington Bay is nice & sheltered. Mooring buoys should be out there.
If you're planning to fuel tomorrow your best prices will probably be Liberty Landiing right across the harbor from you, Hurricane Harbor-Stamford,Ct., Norwalk Cove, Ct. NY is way up in price.
BTW, Watch out for wood as you come around the Battery into the east river. Been seeing some big stuff.

    Tucker,

i am impressed as well... The layout is great, especially the aft deck. huge!! Very few things to complain about. I am not too crazy about the fairly low freeboard for a boat that size. One thing that takes a while getting used to is a noticeable "shudder" when you hit a wake or wave at a certain angle (arodn 30 or 40 deg off the bow...

We ran into short and steep 4 footers the other night going up the Ches. (30kts on the bow), took heavy spray over the slkylounge...only running 10kts so no problem although obvioulsy, it's not a Hatt :)

Acceleration with the 1400 cats is impressive.. from the skylounge you barely hear anything just a smooth and quick acceleration.

NYCap... we're going to stop on the CT shore tonight, leaving NY around 1pm... we topped off in cape may, 4.29, not too bad and the pump was open till 8pm.
