Thought I would show a project that I did two years ago on my 77,42. Charlie Walters that owned Post told me that I could not cut a full door and glass it correcly. If I wanted a door that I would have to look into a 43 model. I do not take no for answers!!! There has not been any movement or stress cracks in two years. The boat is built like a stone and zero movements.

Nice job. It looks as if it was built that way by the factory.

    Sweet looking.

There are a few Post (& others) around here with T doors and a solid cap. I never figured why the cap was solid with a door under it. Has to be a pain.
There is really a concern of hull or transom failure?

I know this is an old thread but this is something I'd like to do to my '82 post. I'm curious if there is structure under the floor that reinforces the cut out or is all the structure on the transom? If there is structure under the floor, could you provide some pictures. Thanks, Patrick
