I am currently in the market for a larger boat and am leaning towards a Bert 54. I am not afraid of older boats and love my projects but the idea of getting one that has already been redone is rather appealing. Hence why this one caught my eye, 1989 Bertram Convertible Complete Re-Fit for sale Does anyone know the history of this or thoughts and insights from owners of 54's? I currently own a Carver 4207, a Fountain 38 Sc, a Boston Whaler 22 and my girlfriend just bought a 28 Bertram. The carver served as my liveaboard during the nasty divorce from hell. But since that is over its time for me to step up.
Looks like they spent a good amt of money on a glass helm and new controls. That's a good sign. Price seems pretty good. Just don't under estimate the work you want to have done. My 75k budget refit has come close to doubling.
