One of many builders purchased either never to be seen again or slowly dying. Many apparently think it's easy and just having a mold or two and a name that has previously been used is some guarantee of riches. They forget about actually being able to run a business, get orders at a price necessary for profit, build within budgets and on time, and to otherwise actually operate as a boat builder. They buy in cheap but lack the resources to operated a real builder. They need to build at least one or two speculative boats to get started but can't afford to. I guess the real clarity is that the people who had been at it for years are unable to survive and yet the newcomer without experience feels they can suddenly be profitable.

If you want to revitalize a builder, you better have lots of experience and knowledge and a lot of capital behind the venture.

Amazing what talented people can do. I can just observe in awe. I watch American Restorations and Count Kustoms sometimes and see them get parts made like the original. Me, I can't make an ashtray with clay.

    Very nice water-baby!

I got my eyes on an original set from an early 70's wooden Post that I believe will get cut up soon.
