    The 1938 Thornycroft built 65m MY Shemara, has finally been rolled out of the shed after a very extensive rebuild at the Burgess Yard, Southampton, England.

    She had been laid up at various yards around the UK for the past 30 years but purchased a couple of years ago by a local businessman following the death of her elderly owner. Her colourful past is worthy of it's own book.

    Beautiful exterior, I felt the interior was a bit too sterile in it's decor however, would not kick her off my dock for that..

    I found it very unfussy 1930s Art Deco. Simple yet stylish.

    Someone's obviously spent quite a bit on her. I was in Brookes in Lowestoft in 88/89 when she was towed up there from down south somewhere. The whole innards was ripped out and at the time the plan was to keep the DC Electrics, I wonder what it has for running gear and electricity these days.

    Nice to see the old girl with a new lease of life.

    She now runs Rolls-Royce diesel electric pod drives.
