    I am looking into buying a 1984 47' Atlantic motor yacht, she has twin Detroit 6V-71TA offering 870hp. I have gathered these are good motors but I can not find a fuel consumption rate on them anywhere. Can anyone give me ball park on this?

    I think you mean 870hp for both engines, yes? As I recall they are about 425 - 435 each. Fuel burn at cruise is likely about 40gph total.

    And I have just told you everything I know about them.

    Yes it's 870 total. Thank you it's is a better idea than I had
