    Super Progress!

I am enjoying reading the thread about your boat redo! We have a 58' Roamer Riviera with some of the same issues. Learning as we go.

I'm thinking mid to late July I know thats late but I really want to finish as much as I can with it out of the water working on it in the water is not really a option in the summer here in Cincinnati as the marinas that will hold a boat that big frown on you working on them ...:) and I love being able to pull the truck up to the side and unload everything ..lol sorry about the poor quality of the photos they are off my ****** phone

ohhhh happy day! ! or so i thought

Well we loaded her up in the sling and took off for the water today .perfect day for a launch i expect I was as nervous as a new dad waiting to meet there new kid for the first time . Everything was going great she fired right up and ran beautifully no real issues so off we went motors purring along after checking the hull several times for any leaks and not finding any I thought I was a boating god on the open water. Right about then the real god step in and brought me back to earth ... there was water on the aft cabin floor? ? No big deal I guess we spilled a drink or some wave water had come in the open windows then I noticed a steady stream flowing from behind the desk? ? Turns out the last owner had rigged a patch on the exhaust tube that broke and the motor was filling the hull with water quickly so I shut the motor down and realised that we are sitting a lot lower in the water then we had been a hour before and I still hear water coming in and fast about then I got the rear floor board up and she was as full as she could be and cresting in to the motor room ...I kicked on all the pumps 4 32volt 3500 a hour pumps running all out and loosing the battle quickly. Call the marina and turn for home lucky for us they had the slings in the water wating for us and 15 Mins later I was back on dry ground. So now I need to replace the exhaust from the motors back due to rust and a crap patch some moron put on there ....at least I got a good ride out of her this summer ...

And as you can see my grandfather was with us the whole time laughing at me about not knowing there was that large of problem with the exhaust tube ...lol in my defence I had to pull out the wall to find the patch and the top of the tube looks great all the way up its the bottom that rusted out ...and wow could they have made that harder to get to ..

    Hello,

Is this the 2 state room model? How fast did you have her going before you noticed the leak? She looks great!
