"I have collapsed a couple of old docks in the area."
"I have had the joy of watching this happen, although to a much larger boat, its quite exciting."

No typos here, work on boats in there area enough, and rebuild a few old docks and this kind of stuff happens.

KW1 the wooden boats you were looking at didn't happen to be built in the industrial park off of Viscaya Blvd?

Just watched a case on Peoples Court involving a 1974 23' Mako that was rafted to a 41' Sea Ray off to the side of Pt. Jeff harbor on Labor Day weekend last. A 26' boat came by at "8 to 10mph". The Mako rocked into the the SR. $2,238 damage to the Mako (only a black streak from the rub rail on the SR). The 26 wouldn't stop, but the Mako got his #'s. Verdict for the Mako. Regardless of the speed the judge determined that the 26 was not operating in a "safe manner for the circumstances".

Old! And speaking of old, if you ever want to get old you best change that "flesh heals... fiberglass doesn't" philosophy to "fiberglass is cheaper to replace than body parts".

You got that right! That attitude is lethal. Just ask the widower whose wife tried to fend off another boat just before the Nordhavn rally a few years ago.

It will be a long time before fiberglass techs are more expensive than doctors, and hull repairs don't come back to haunt you the rest of your life.

I entirely agree – but I’m not sure which post you are referring to!
